- ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪I have always had a dentist phobia due to several bad experiences as a child. I would be so nervous in the chair that the novocaine did not seem to take effect or last very long. I have never experienced the numbness in my lips or mouth that other people describe to me and it always seems like the nerves in my teeth were feeling the drill. I have recently tried the NuCalm and it is helping me. 3 pills, pulsing pads on back of my neck, relaxing music, black glasses, warm blanket, and I am ready to go! I can feel the shots but not at all painful. The novocaine takes effect very quickly and lasts through the procedure. I could barely tell she was working on my teeth at all. When I left I was feeling very relaxed and kind of euphoric. If you have trouble with dentist fear due to novocaine not numbing you enough this is definitely worth a try.
